Frequently Asked Questions

These are a few of the most often asked questions about the DVDs and the How to Talk Dog™ training method.

1) What does this DVD teach?

Answer: Obedience and one word commands that correct your pets "problem areas".

2) Is this DVD for puppies only?

Answer: No. We discuss and demonstrate at all stages of development from puppies to adult dogs.

3) Is your technique harmful or cruel to the dog?

Answer: No. We simply teach you how to communicate with your dog, in a manner that he or she understands. It is most humane.

4) Why can't I use my lead?

Answer: The lead is critical to the success of the technique. We have experimented with every type of lead and our lead has been handcrafted and specifically designed for the success of this technique.

5) My dog is a large, muscular breed and I can't control him on the lead. He drags me everywhere. Will the DVD help me correct this behavior?

Answer: Absolutely! Our training technique teaches your dog to be responsive to the positioning and movement of the owner. A dog being properly led should travel at the pace of the owner with the lead being limp. The DVD clearly explains and demonstrates this method.

6) How much time will obedience training require?

Answer: This is the beauty of our training technique! 15 minutes every other day is all that is required. Example: two hours equally segmented over a two week period will result in an incredibly obedient dog.

7) Should I continually train my dog with the "half-hitch" in place?

Answer: Great question! The answer is no. After the third or fourth "half-hitch" session, we suggest using the technique only when correcting undesirable behavior or situations.

8) What size lead do I need large or small?

Answer: We recommend the small lead for dogs reaching 30 lbs. as an adult and the large lead for dogs exceeding 30 lbs. as an adult.

9) My dog is obedient to me but is unresponsive to my spouse and children. How can I overcome this behavior?

Answer: In order for the dog to be submissive to the household, consistent work with the dog by all of the family members is a must.

10) Why should I bother training my dog in obedience?

Answer: Our training technique will ensure a pleasant, fun and healthy relationship with your pet for years to come.

11) What happens if I have problems training my dog using your instructional DVD?

Answer: We offer after the sale support. You may call by phone or contact us online with your particular problem and one of our staff members will help walk you through the difficulty.
